At this year’s Games Developers Conference, Microsoft elaborated further regarding user created content being distributed on its Xbox Live Marketplace.
Home and independent developers can download the free XNA Game Studio 2.0 toolset for the PC and start creating games right now, although you’ll have to join the XNA Creators Club to be able to submit a game for possible distribution on Xbox Live. Here the content will undergo a thorough peer-review process and be evaluated for accuracy in representation and appropriateness. If all goes to plan, community game developers will be able to beta test the process this spring and will be able to distribute their games on Xbox Live by the end of this year.
Good luck to any readers who want to pursue this and get into game development (I know I wish I could). You never know, one day your game could join this growing list of videogames reviews here on Gamesweasel!
