Like many of you I have fond memories of playing GoldenEye on my Nintendo 64. In fact it was when I first saw the stunning first person shooter from Rare running on a N64 demostation that I knew I had to buy the console. Almost thirteen years later GoldenEye 007 returns to Nintendo from developers Eurocom and publishers Activision.
At first the idea of remaking the classic game brought shudders to my spine but soon after the first details started to emerge it became apparent that GoldenEye for Wii was actually going to be a very different game. So it transpires that Eurocom are going back and reimagining the original game in the new modern Bond style.
Firstly Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean are gone to be replaced by Daniel Craig and Judi Dench. Secondly this time around GoldenEye 007 Wii has taken lots of structural inspiration from Modern Warfare 2; expect solid action, terrific set pieces and plenty of stealth. Plenty of Multiplayer modes are available to play for lovers of the classic Bond deathmatch and the best news of all is support for up to 8 players online via Nintendo WiFi connection.
We can’t wait to get a hold of 007 GoldenEye on Wii and the good news is we don’t have to wait very long at all. The GoldenEye Wii release date in the US is November 2nd in the US and three days later on November 5th for Europe.
